RE:Poor JohnR/ Can you imagine?A brother in law Like me???
Yes sir, that would be a frightening thought. On the other hand, at my disposal would be a wealth of information and experience. Be clear on that point, because that was never the issue. I would hope for the same respect, because although I now own a boat and am content to fish the daylight, that doesn't mean I haven't paid my dues. I fished 15 years from the surf, 10 footer in tow, before buying my boat. Add the 14 years experience with the boat, which I might add expanded tremendously my knowledge of the behavior and habits of stripers, that's a lot of years to draw on. I'm no Johnny come lately when it comes to striper fishing. I run my own business, have a wife and 3 boys, parents that are now in need of special care and my priorities aren't what they used to be.
I have a great deal of respect for your abilities, because although I don't know you, I can read between the lines and realize you know of what you speak. What I don't have respect for is your belittling my choice of methods, timing, size fish I randomly target (remember I don't go out to target small schoolies), that somehow those choices of necessity make me less of a fisherman than you. Send me the winning lottery ticket for the next Mass Millions drawing, please I'd appreciate it. With that I would sell my business, take care of my parents situation, have the money so my family is set for life and go back to chasing the large ones at my leasure. In a blink of an eye, I'd be posting about the large ones that you feel it's all about. Don't think I'd rather be out there doing what your doing, but circumstances don't allow it.
Your attitude is what I take exception to. Not that I need your acceptance, because I don't, but your constant negative responses to what I see as positive input to this board really burns my butt. Like I said before, your diplomcy skills are sadly lacking and it's too bad, because you clearly have a lot to offer this or any striper board.
I've said all I care to say on this subject, but I think you get the point. Tight lines and I wish you a productive fall.
