The pencil popper went great, drilled both ends slowly and then went straight through with the long bit dead center!

The needles I had trouble with. The blocks I used were not cut square so that gave me a bit of a disadvantage, so the bit wandered.

Chalk it up to the learning curve. I have cut up all my wood to size (square) and I am going to thru-drill all bodies before turning, I borrowed a friends drill press and it works great. Maybe done with the pencil popper soon, the needles are kind of, not great, so I will use them to perform some of the other steps on such as weighting, priming and painting, etc. Thanks for asking JTRB.
