My feelings on 'herring' runs are as follows:
I do not believe a recreational fisherman like myself can damage the herring stocks. Multiply the number of herring that I use for bait in 1 season by 2,000 fisherman and it still doesn't compare to
1 commercial herring vessel.
My herring season is a short one, so if I'm having a great night...I'm going back for more. If #^&#^&#^&#^& is there with a chicken fence blocking their path
I'll find a way to get some...like I always do. Can #^&#^&#^&#^& stop me from blocking
his path? Can #^&#^&#^&#^& stop me from walking up and down the run not allowing the herring to even reach his fence? If I get into a bittchhing match with #^&#^&#^&#^&, all I'm doing is wasting my time, time that I could be using to fish. All I know, is.. if there are herring in that run...I'll get what I need or at least try my hardest to...and NO, you don't live in a plexy-glass house...as a matter of fact, you have a beautiful house and your a fisherman that I respect highly. I'VE SEEN YOUR DEDICATION FIRSTHAND, I SEE YOUR HARD WORK, YOU WORK VERY HARD FOR EVERY FISH YOU CATCH....I CAN, AND WILL VOUCH FOR YOU ANYTIME. My first line, about the glass house was NOT directed at you, it was a general statement. I read alot of posts on here that I feel are bull#^&#^&#^&#^&, so before people hopped on the bus...I gave it a flat tire. I know your a law-abiding citizen and I respect you for that. You were there with me and the Tattoo'd freak digging out a herring run, and I'm not talking sand here....WE KNOW THE HARD WORK WE PUT INTO IT. I just couldn't comfortably call the DEM on a person taking herring illegally when I know I could possilby be guilty myself. Does it make it right? NO...it's just my opinion.
