I had the distinct pleasure of fishing the Canal several times with Stan in the early 80's (before his hip replacement). At that time he was fishing bluefish for his lobster traps and couldn't have been more down to earth. His shop was on his property in Scusset and one could go there and buy seconds cheaply. If you were known, a canal special pencil popper could be obtained, they were never sold retail. I'll never forget Stan or the shop he ran.
