I second the JB Weld. I was leary when I bought it, but used it to fix a broken reel part that I couldn't get, and it worked like a charm. I was able to use my dremel to machine it and clean it up, as well. Just be sure to clean the surfaces to be joined, and let it cure for at least 24 hours.
