Schoolie, what I meant is the state makes rules, regulations, management decisions, etc and many times they screw things up//////
If you wanted to know something about fishing and wanted the best possible answer, Would you ask the clerk at k mart? or Mr real fisherman///
Who do you think proably knows more about shellfish, the digger on the water for 40 years , or the book smart guy behind the desk///////////
Example:: A few years ago the state came up with this bright idea of transplanting 250000 lbs of Quahogs from the Providence River to a area sectioned off outside of Wickford to be dug up at a later time!!!!!!!!!!
What really happen:: [1] they transplanted 250000 lbs of chowders the lowest on the scale of value ::
{2] in a sectioned off area, you don;t have to be a rocket engineer to locate them//
[3] they but them in a area of hard bottom, results they were unable to borrow into the bott
end result///they sat on the bottom just sooner or later going to die, but no, someone[s] who thought about it, thanks to the markers, and some skiff dredges, a few nights towing dredges took care of this situation rather quickly
the state was amazed when they opened this area and there wasn/t any product//////////////
some what /kinda the logic being used with the Stripers, state by state, size by size, commercial ,reconational, nets ,traps rod/reel/ by catch///////// yet the same fish swims in all these different waters/////////////////////////////////
