I've not had a problem with either the Owner or Kalin jigs and ironically both use Owner forged hooks. The Owner saltwater bullets use a cutting edge hook, which I find a better hooker, plus I like the way my 8" grub swims on their 1OZ, but they are more money then the Kalins. The Kalins I believe use the Owner conicle point, still a good hook and less money. If I'm fishing snaggy water I'm throwing the Kalins, on the Boat or sandy bottoms I use the Owners.
Tin Man was at the show, but I've yet to hook up with him on the triangular shad heads, but the 6" shads you have will definately swim better on a shad head with an 7/0 to 8/0 hook in it, weight based on wear you are. Give me a call, I'll come on down and show you a few tricks.
