Light spinning outfit, like a 7-8 foot walleye rod.

Shimano Sustain 4000 loaded with 30 lb. Power Pro.

Tied DIRECTLY using modified Albright (or Alberto's knot) to 12-15 lb. test FLUOROCARBON LEADER.

These tunoid critters have sharp eyesight and are leader-shy.

Lures can be a local thing - I've done well on Deadly #^&#^&#^&#^&s (2 oz) and Swedish Pimples. Anything bright and shiny and that resembles local rain bait (bay anchovies, spearing, baby herring). Allow the tins to sink briefly and then crank them in.

They can be taken on poppers and swimmers and brightly-colored needlefish. And flies.

Best times: at first light. The fish get wary as the day progresses. Dirty water can be your friend.
