My friend, depends on the season, the tide, and the time of day.
You think the stuff I write I get out of a book? I don't think anyone who has ever read anything I ever wrote thinks I got got anything "out of a book". The stuff I've written here, you can't find in books.
You can catch them on a rising tide in the Spring and Summer and a falling tide when they are headed South. I love fishing the top of the tide in Autumn when they are comming back down, and the rising tide when they are headed North. But, if I have a "window of opportunity", I'll go just about any time. I like jigging, top water and bait. I don't like eels (I've caught alot on eels, but I just don't like them) To each his own I guess.
Ever get stuck on the bottom?
By the way, you certainly do make some nice lures, I guess those don't get stuck on the bottom too often. I've made some lures, certainly not as nice as yours, but they do catch, so I'm satisfied. Your a lucky man to live on the Cape, you have a nice business and have worked hard to make your guide service successful. I lived on the Cape back in the '70's. You like fishing the beaches, I drive from Brockton to the canal. The fish only have 3 shorelines to travel, mainland, Cape and outer beach. Everyone has their favorite places, favorite tides, methods.
Well, heres hoping you get only large .
