Saltheart - enjoy the show. I never much got into Tolkien or that genre. I was more into King & Clancy (later on)... My wife is dying to see this though so I'll watch our boy and she'll stag it to the movie

I did see a few bigger movies on their first days; ID4, Star Trek(s), Star Wars 1... Never saw Perfect Storm until 2 months after it came out even though I had sworn to myself I'd be there on opening day....
Saw "Hunt for Red October" on opening day, wanted to name boat to "Hunt for Miss October" - same idea nyuck, nyuck, nyuck....
