I hear ya Ron - I put up with it all day here at work, between the 2 way radios and the page phone system.

I usually turn down/off the VHF if it gets out of hand - I want to get away from all the BS when i'm out there.

Same thing applies out on the water as does here at work - ignore it - if they know there's an audience they'll keep it going.

If they know it's tweakin someone they'll kick it up a few notches.
