Christian is right, 2 part epoxies offer some protection but not a whole lot compared to the automotive clear coats.
Epoxies are easy and relatively safe to use as compared to the latter which are HIGH in VOC's, dangerous and tough to use but they are TOUGH.
You decide.
I use epoxy. Why? I dont think the plug will last long enough to put in the time for a automotive spray system & I am a recreational builder like most here.
