I have a loadrite trailer with the rubber covers you describe, the grease fitting is in the axle thru to the rear of the hub, when you pump in new grease it forces the old grease out the front instead of blowing past the grease seal in the back of the hub. This is very close to a complete repacking of the bearings, a great improvement over the buddy bearings!
