Did the same with my 2000 225hp Rude and they replaced the power head free of charge and I traded it for a 2003 225 Rude!!!
Hooper!! hope you are putting decarb in your gas if you have the 2003DFI!!! Them motors are not ment for trolling!!! they are ment to run on the high end of your RPMs!!!
And while under warranty I would use Evinrude /Johnson products!!!!
