So This Morning I Stop at Tattoo's...

....and he's bumming because his drill press went down. I told him he shoulda hit the tog flats with me this morning.

Ahhh...kids today, they just won't listen

Then I notice a rack full of plugs he just painted drying and ready to be clear-coated. They're reverse darters (okay, it's the eyes that are reversed), but the squid patterns he painted them in are right off the freakin' hook.

Duuuuudes....all I can say is:

The one that I liked is has this orange/white/pink swirly thing
going on - killer. Then the classics, the pinks, the oranges, whites...

I managed to ho a raw maple one with a saddle hackle dressed VMC on it - and went right into the tackle bunker when I got home and started the first of what will be several coats of Epiphanes varnish on it. It's just gonna be a show piece for the tackle bunker, I don't think I'm gonna fish that one at all.

The swirly one - now that one I'm gonna put to good use.

He was supposed to take off to join the Habanero (who is somewhere across the border among the Sand People).

Heh heh heh heh, he shouldn't have left so soon

Wait'll he gets back and hears da news.....

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
