I know some people like em' (my mother loves them too), but they are noway as popular as the basics cod haddock scrod etc...
because they are an oily strong tasting fish. not the white met kind most people prefer. If they were a white meat fish, I don't believe they would be as plentiful as they are.
I forgot bluefish too. not a big table fish, and there are plenty to be caught. Coincidence ??????
