OK - really wish I had bothered / dared read this thread earlier so I coulda said "knock it off" earlier. BUT KNOCK IT OFF.
If you guys want to debate this back and fro in a civilized manner, that's OK - in a new thread. If you all want to argue FACTS backed up with LINKS I highly encourage it. If you want to state an OPINION say it is your OPINION if you are going to present a FACT, like mentioned above, provide your SUPPORTING documentation. Above all, remember that this is a FISHING SITE, serious, deep battles of politics and religion can and usually do go beyond the scope of these boards!!!!
I supported GW HEAVILY after Afghanistan and chasing the terrorists, I still do.
I am not convinced of a strong link between Iraq and Al Queda, strong enough to act on though at the time, I thru my lot in after Powell presented his - likely not known at the time - evidence against Sadamm. Even though it appears to be based on incorrect data, there were many reasons to go in there. Maybe not immediately, but reason enough to go in. Not immenent danger perhaps but it would have become so. I CLEARLY believe that this administration repeatedly fumbled the football on Iraq. They found a tarbaby and now we are stuck. I believe there is no easy "pull out" now because we will be more screwed up long term - either way we, as a country, can be greatly screwed on this. Hopefully, within 20 years, some semblance of true democracy and freedom will have taken root in Iraq and spread out from there, but it ain't happening tomorrow and probably not Jan 31. God I pray it does though.
