Rake your own. I raked 25 lbs. of sandeels last weekend in 2 hours. Great striper bait and even better fluke bait. Use a tandem rig with a fluke belly strip and a sand eel on each hook. In my opinion the best fluke set up around, but you need fresh or properly frozen sand eels. Also for the lazy striper fisherman you cannot beat a sandeel rig on the beach with the rods in sand spikes. You just kick back and watch the rods. Ah good times. Sorry I am digressing back to sand eels. If you take care of them and put them up right you can freeze them no problem. I have used them from last year and they still are in great shape. Got to do it right though. Problem with the bait shop frozen ones is they try to sell them fresh till the last possible second by then they are way too soft and will not freeze well. The darn things are way way too expensive to buy from the bait stores. When you want it done right you gotta do it yourself. If you want any info on how and where send me a PM and I will help you out. P.M.
