Smoke - I've bounced off a few rocks around there but you wouldn't want the horn tootin' and waking everyone up.

Couple things to think of, find moving water running across structure, be it a rock pile, point, or a ledge, get your baits/eels down low, and fish night/sunset/sunrise tides. Just improves your odds. The same as surfcasting but more mobility and choice. Also consider that the south side of the island "MAY" be better more often. But I've caught within 100 yds of your house (good shore fishing there )
