Yes, it is a particularly good issue.
Some people diss the mag – but it’s kind of hard to argue with what they’ve been able to do: they have a major subscription base, a good website, a freaking TV show, a significant presence at the outdoor shows and a newstand presence at the major bookstores.
But what I like about them is that they allow their contributors to occasionally step outside the conventions of formulaic how-to and where-to.
