S-journey, thanks for posting that because I was out there at the mouth of the rivers that night in my boat and had no idea what was going on. At one point I saw the CG coming from Scituate into the river and he raced up on us screaming if we were ok and we said we were and that we were just fishing. Then he zipped upriver and that must have been where he found the boat that was going down. We saw him leave the area a little bit after that to only come flying back in later in the night. That night was one of the windiest nights I have ever spent on the water. I am very surprised that all of those kayakers made it home safely after getting lost, they were very lucky to say the least. Those CG boats were very busy that night and I would say that they did a great job saving those people that night between the wind and the full moon tide. It was pretty bad out there that night we really should have not been out there all night. Noaa was calling for the sw to calm to 10 mph after midnight and it was blowing 20-25 until just before dawn. Anyways thanks for the info, now I finally know what was going on.
