Question Late night surprise

I was fishing with Goose this past weekend and even though us greenhorns are known to be ok fishermen I would have never guessed what would be biting on my line that night. We were tossing eels into the rocks and having an ok night, actually we were laughing to hard to have a bad night, always a trip with that gringo ....One thing about Goose, fish or not...it's always a good time. We had some decent eels, 1 or 2 shoe-strings - the rest were nice and fat, well I throw on this fattie...lob it into a volcano pit of rocks and seconds later I'm on. Seems the bigger fish always hit in the toughest situations, you'd think they know what they're doing or something ...I finally work this fish out of the pit and after another short run or 2 she's within range. Too dark to see, even harder with the fish exploding up close..so I shine the red light on the water...and what to my wondering eyes does appear...

A CARP!!

Has anyone ever caught a Carp on Eels? Is this common for our waters? Does anyone know any good Carp recipes?

I'm curious to read your replys.
