I haven't heard anything recently but I do know that an open wound is an invitation to getting this. The victims often need flesh removed to avoid the spread of it. Make sure if you poke yourself with a hook,knife,etc that you put something on it, also be careful handling fish with cuts on your hands, this is a nasty thing to get.
