Well I learned last Thu nite that the body on the Shimano Stradic 4000 and the 5000 are the SAME. Just the spool is deeper on the 5000 and the OD was slightly larger. Bud8fan and I were going to trade reels, but ended up just swapping a spool.

I know that in the Daiwa Hardbodyz - the 3500 & 4000 size the body is the same and the difference was with the depth of the spool/spool capacity. I guess this is the current trend.

VS200 & VS250 have the same body with different size rotor/spool combo.

I know the Penn 710 & 712 had the same body but different size rotor/spool combo. Same for the 714 & 716. May be the 704 & 706Z (don't own the 706Z yet).

The Quantum Cabo PT 5000 & 6000 were the same bodies, but with different size spools. I swapped spools at the store to show the guys who worked there. I guess I should have put some $ down first - could have put it towards some new gear ..... LOL.

Dumb things you learn from owning too many reels and messing around with them for too long at a store when you are procrastinating because I didn't want to go home to scrape wallpaper (neither did my wife - she went out to do wine tasting & shop at local vineyard).

Yeah I be rambling: lesson to learn - don't rush to get some part going on a machine because you generally come in the following morning to see the aftermath of broken tools & collets fused into aluminum......LMAO - oh, what a way to start a day. :P

Getting back to the MAIN question: Shimano Spheros 5000, or Stradic 5000. You can use the 4000, or 8000 sizes as well - go with what you feel good on the rod in your hand.
