You my friend, are someone who "gets it"! Instilling knowledge and memories into a young one by spending the time and making the effort pays many times over in great satisfaction.
And yes....he will remember Uncle Gilly if he is as bright a child as you say he is.....he will always remember, and maybe do the same for his children someday......or a special niece or nephew of his own.
