As long as 4 is the minimum , a rod built on the Allstar 1209 is good. It won't toss less than 4 but will hamnmer 4 to 6 OZ. Probably not good for Pencil Poppers but good for everythimng else especially jigs.

I suppose I'd go with the Biggest Penn Z or the Penn 8500 SS. Lots of guys use the Nautils for that heavy stuff but they are always replacing them so I guess a big Penn. I guess Whiplash or power Pro are the most popular braids for spinners now.

I personally would never use a spinner for such heavy work. I'd go with a conventional with a Abu BG 7000CL and 50 LB Cortland spectron....In fact , that's what I use about 90% of the time.
