Eben - according to this weeks "The Fisherman" a swamp yankee refers to "those old salt-of-the-earth Rhode Islanders who can make things work with little or no money or raw materials" - which i think is just a more PC way of saying what you said! Who knows - but if it's an excuse to get my a$$ out fishing more - then I'm for it!
