I have one (4500) and I use it for eels in heavy current that it flowing directly away from me(does that make sense ?).
I don't like the baitrunner option as compared to having an open bail with your finger on the line. I can give to the fish faster if all I have to do is drop my finger and there is just enough tension on the bait runner to make a fish wonder.
well made reel though and it does work with many different lines.
