that is what I have now. yami 225 4 stroke. lost 12 knots in speed from twin 150 two stokes but it is quiet at idle...at speed it is somewhat quieter but not much...has a different sound a deeper tone to it. The best thing is the fuel economy. It burns a lot less. Oh yeah...no oil to deal with...that is a nice treat. But I miss the top end. (50 to 38). One thing about 4 stokes they troll far better then 2 strokes. You can idle these all day without problems. But the weight, cost and reduced power are drawbacks.
They need to get more power out of those 4 stroke motors IMO. Sounds like they are trying. Once they do that I think the move will be in the 4 stroke direction.
So far it is reliable. My buddy bought twins of these same engines and he loves them ...has 250 hours already this season without missing a beat...i only have about 75 (but the derby is just starting)
