Allstar 1208 goes perfectly with the VS250. Also doubles as a walking stick.

As far as the reel goes, go with the VS 250 - I find the VS200 to be a bit undergunned for 10 foot rods, especially on rock piles. Also, on the VS 250, you can use standard Penn 704/706 metal and fiber drag washers in a pinch (thanks for that hint MikeP
