Hey Doc
You have discovered the secret of not going home skunked....the teaser. The Striper is an opportunistic predator. It will always go after something that is being chased so the teaser always looks like a smaller baitfish being chased by a larger one. Old Dave Hammock at Murats use to tell me that it made no sense not to fish a teaser. "Why wouldn't you want to have 2 lures in the water at the same time."
I get almost all my fish on the teaser. One night recently RIROCKHOUND and I got over 100 fish and the majority of them were on the teaser. The 25.2 LBer I posted last week was on a teaser in a full gale with nothing but white water for 100 yards. I am not sure how the bass see that little fly in all the suds....but they do.
I tie a drooper loop into my leader so it doesn't tangle.
