Well Salty, yah didn't miss much. JohnR landed a 22lb fish (me thinks that was the weight) and his friend (schoolie monster?) caught a 24 incher. Both on eels. A couple of us had some takes but that was about it. Carl and I toughed it out till past midnight but nada. It was great hanging out with everyone. I ended up having to cut the visit short but did manage to follow the coastline on the trip back. Started at Watch Hill yesterday AM. NADA I did see fish in the Pawcatuck River but they were out to far. Lots of bait swimming around the docks. Headed to East Beach. You would have been proud of me. I actually found that parking lot. Nothing happening there. It was nice being able to fish in summer gear. Oh yeah, having two handwarmers lying nearby didn't hurt either. I don't think I'll be seeing conditions like that for awhile. Nothing going on at Quonny(forgive the spelling). I sure wish I had brought my canoe as I'm pretty sure it was schoolies busting up something in the salt pond. After a few other stops I finally ended up at Point Judith. OH YES! I think I found another spot to had to my Top 10 places to throw my ashes to the wind. However, the surf was flat beyond belief. A couple of surfer dudes were trying to squeeze some rides out of the one foot waves(were they even that big??). I did see some birds hovering over a small patch of something(roughly 1/2 mile out). Within minutes every boat for miles around converged on the spot. After 10 mins there were still no bent rods. Fired up the buggy and headed north. Got back in Maine around 6:00pm. Decided to go in to work. You never know when I might need the vacation day. My striper season is offically over but if things heat up in Rhody.......
