PB...you will find most of the cash you lay out will be for the small things.....drill bits, plug hardware, primer, sandpaper, paint, hooks....all this stuff hits you harder than the big ticket items.....
take it from one who knows!
If you already got a lathe....get a small drill press....at Homies they have the Rhyobi for like $99.00...I got one and it is great!
