yeah, tell me about it
here is my dillema, maybe I can get some advice from someone on the site.
I want this engine. It is 25" shaft length and I need 20". Also, I am nervous about the transom on a 1970 boat, and I know the deck is soft and will need to be replaced at some point, and most of the boat need to be re-wired, blah blah blah, typical hole in the water to throw money at.
ANYWAY, what I really want to do is rip off the floor, rip out the old soaked foam, rebuild the stringers if necessary, rebuild the transom and add 5" height (which would kill two birds with one stone because the low transom takes a lot of water when backing down), and put on one of these bad ass 150s jim is offering out.
I wish I could do this on my own, but I can't. I wish I had enough money to go ahead and do it, but I don't. What I really need is someone who will take my merc 115 & the blown 150 in trade for the rebuild/engine install work.
I just came up with this scheme today, but I don't really even know where to look for someone that can do the work and would consider the trade.
ANY THOUGHTS?
