I made one a couple of weeks ago, Pinchney with a slope head. Made out of poplar, about eight inches long, with a #3 pikie lip, a little weight in center. Floats and with a slow retrieve it leaves a wake like a motorboat. I'll have to wait till next year to see if it catches

My guess is that they work there is enough of them around.
