I used to be pro death penalty until the DNA tests in Illinois showed so many on death row were innocent.
- It costs more to execute than a life sentence
- There is zero evidence that shows it is a deterrence
- There is no ability to be really sure, like 99.9% sure someone is guilty. Recent DNA testing has proven this dramatically.
I'm pragmatic, it simply doesn't make sense.
