In California, Peterson will live to be at least 80 before he is executed. With all the jury problems that went with this case, I expect it to get overturned, or dropped to life in prison.

I think California needs to either drop the death penalty or speed it up. 1 bullet cost what? $1.00? You can empty death row in San Quentin for a couple hundred bucks.

When I was in high school (1980) there was a guy killing women on the slopes of Mt Tamalpias. He was eventually caught and convicted of killing 18 or so people. Carpenter was his name and he has been awarded the death penalty 12 times. He is still alive.

I think special circumstances require special punishment. I don't think capital punishment is the answer. I think putting child abusers / killers in general population is cheaper, more effective and quicker.
