I fish a lot for fluke...I have tried just about everything under the sun.. One dogfish will destroy those lame gold hooks. I am trying to get my local shop NOT to carry them (along with the lame rigs)but they are so cheap and people buy them. It never ceases to amaze me that people will make all kinds of efforts to spend a day fishing, take time off, expensive rods and reels, ect...then put a worthless hook on

I just don't get it.
for fluke hooks....I like the VMC wide gaps (very rugged, slightly heavy and will rust) and the mustad stainless wide gaps (for a thinner hook if desired not quite as rugged as the vmc but will not rust and get the largest size they make) Both are reasonably priced and work great for fluking. (again in my opinion..) If you don't like wide gaps (I like them for fluke) then there are a million choices for a good hook besides the sweat-shop tied junkie fluke rigs you see in wall mart.
