If there boat was covered in ice it would have been extremely top heavy. It wouldn't have taken a huge wave to tip it over. Those shows on the King Crab fishing in Alaska show the crew constantly breaking the ice so the boat is not top heavy.
My families thoughts and prayers for those five men that are still lost at sea. Terriable thing to happen around the holidays.
