I worked for the past 5yrs part time at a nascar collectibles shop. And I will tell you its all about "a fool and his money"
Reason I say this is I have quite the collection myself and I have never paid more than $90 for any of my diecast. That including pieces that others have paid as high as $400 for.
Its like any collectible! Some people are just too impatient to wait for a good deal so they pay way more than something is worth!
There are only a handful of diecast out there that are actually worth the kind of money your talking about!
