I was listening to it all on EEI today and they had Mankewitz on. I believe the ball rightfully belongs to him....he fielded it and he kept it as a momento just as many do with a special ball of any kind. Like they said, if he did not grab it someone else would have......and sure as hell they would have profited from it. I do however believe that he should contact the Hall Of Fame and offer to display the ball there with the proviso that it still belongs to him. If the Sox want the ball, let them pay him for it. If a fan had wound up with the ball, would they force them to return it or offer to buy it? I see absolutely nothing wrong with what he did or what he said about it on the radio....if you were him, would you not have kept that ball? I would have!
