There are plenty of spots to night fish with great results!!!

That said,
BE SAFE!! Make sure all your light are working!!
And leave them on!! Make sure you have a HORN and that it works!!
Beware of your surroundings at all times!!
Make sure the deck is clear and lit!! You don't want to be tripping over stuff.

It is common practice for boats to shut their rear light off so not to scare the fish! Don't do it!!

On July 12, 2002 I was fishing with a good friend on his boat, we got are 40 keepers!!

On July 14, 2002 the same friend wanted me to go with him and I could not. He went alone in his boat that night.
I got a call at 5 am that morning to say that his boat was rammed and it rolled over. He was killed instantly when the bow of the on coming boat crushed his chest! at about 3 am.

All this because he shut off his running lights so not to scare the fish!!

This ruined plenty of lives!! A mother & Father lost a son, a brother & sister lost a brother, a wife lost a Husband, and friends lost a great friend!

Not to mention the poor guy who hit him! Even though it was not his fault, he will have to live with the fact that someone died, and weather or not, if he just watched better or slowed down, or stayed home, that things might had been different??

I am sorry guys for this long post!! But feel that this is something we all need to know! SAFETY FIRST!!

I will return to the Dark water this summer for the first time since that day. But not before I make sure everything is right with the boat! And you can be sure my eyes will never leave the water looking for all the boats around me!!

Be Safe!

"All my friends are Flakes!!"
