TDF i bought it as part of a 5 pc set for just four bucks. i doubt they would last long using hardwoods, but they work with the cedar i'm using.

Flap, when you say smaller version do you mean same length, different weight? I've heard of gibbs' canal specials that were heavier, but were they the same length

The angle cut is the same, but i left the heads a little longer, to give me more room for the eyes....i didn't even think about how it would affect the action.
Sometimes i TRY to get the deep, low sounding BLUUURP rather than the quick, splashy pop....i think the low sound helps me catch (non-blitzing) fish at times, for the change-up if nothing else.
The top is a small polaris, below it was the plug i copied, the one that weighs just under 2 3/8 oz the bottom is one i made - but it could be flaps, if he promises to fish it and not let it sit on the rack......unless it gets to stay close to gibbs #1
