I'm re-reading Perfect Storm for about the fifth time and there is a line that describes the mental insanity of fisherman perfectly.... The setting is the late 17th century and the Gloucestermen do not stop fishing on Sundays like the rest of the Colony... "Some Gloucester fishermen, apparently, didn't even respect the Sabbath: 'Cape Cod captains went wild-eyed in an agony of inner conflict' recorded a Cape Cod historian named Josef Berger, 'as they read the Scriptures to their crews while some godless Gloucester craft lay in his path...hauling up a full share of mackerel or cod"...
I know the feeling when at 8 in the morning, #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& calls me and tells me of his wondereous adverntures plying the surf at night for large bass while I'm stuck at my darn computer with phones ringing and people need something right away :P . I know that I shouldn't burn a sick day and fish the night before
and each time, I almost do....
Its that inner turmoil Bob. I know what you mean. There a, is, umm, no more, er fish, down at, uh, the Cape. Yeh, that's it! Or they are all small fish and you don't want them, right?
