I respect your point of view and acknowledge the fact that your products are designed and manufactered with high quality standards.
I do not understand who your truely price protecting, the customer or the stores.
I would think that a manufacturer's concern would be profit regardless of what price the stores sell the products. If there is a store that can sell 50x more items then any other store, then your profit will increase that same amount at the expense of that particular store receiving less profit.
It appears that a manufacturer would be price protecting (price fixing) the stores instead of having the stores offering price protection for the customers. (An example of price protection as most stores carry just to maintain a customer would be a store that will match the price of any other store.)
