Are you fishing on the river or a lake? if you're fishing the river, and you have trout fishing experience, use the same principals, as the bass often hold and feed like trout do. White bucktail is always a safe bet. Try a muddler minnow. You might be surprised... :-) From shore on a lake, look for structure, rocky bottoms and ledges. Breaks from deep water to shallow. Try fishing at night
:-) In the salt, eel grass beds. Don't know if you have the equvalent there or not...

I've had great luck as the air pressure drops before a storm front moves thru.
