been using 1/8" starboard for my templates. I started using it only because i had it lying around. It's not as hard as lexan, so it might not be as durable, but i find it easier to shape, and i keep the templates tucked away when not in use just so they wont get dinged.

If you want to try it i'll give ya a piece.
