Easy--take out the screw on the back side of the bail pedastal, pull the roller assembly out, take the roller off the post and you'll see the bearing underneath.

I just started using an oil called Reel-X. Supposedly penetrates sealed bearings. I used one of my 706s for the first time this season last night. I used Reel-X in it when I serviced it this spring. The roller was quiet for a solid 4-5 hours of casting and retrieving jigs.
