Biggest difference between acrylic and polycarb is that acrylic will break or
shatter if stuck with any real force while polycarb is nearly indestructable....both clear
acrylic and polycarb have nearly 100% light transmission but acrylic would appear to be "clearer" and "cleans up" much nicer and is easier to work with...
that being said I would still prefer polycarbonate for a boat windshield....with proper care it should last much longer...acrylic has roughley 17-18 times the impact strength as glass and polycarb has about 20 times the impact strength of acrylic....if drilling holes in either material for screws or bolts always drill the hole slightly oversized to allow for material expansion and contraction with tempature fluctuations....and yes, there are pourable acrylic
products still on the market for making castings...pm me if you want to know more about them (my company sells them but I am not sure about rules regarding posting other websites)....please excuse the spelling errors
