Don't those plugs have to be "indexed"? That is, the gap must be facing a certain direction on each cyl. On mine you needed to take a felt pen and mark on the white part of the plug were the gap was, then when you tightened them up you needed to make sure the index mark you made was in a certain sector of the head and the torque was within range...if not you had to back it out and put in another plug and try that. Once you got them all right it did make a big difference. I bet there is something like that on yours too.
